HISTORY of the BRINNON church
Summary:
- February 14, 1955 - Several people in the Brinnon Community wanted a church, so they completed and filed the paperwork in Olympia. For the first few years the Sunday school met at the newly built Brinnon School.
- A represenative of Village Mission stopped in Brinnon and inquired about the possibilty of a church in Brinnon. The first church was a Pan Abode Cedar Home kit for $4000. It had 2 classrooms, a sancturay, office and bathroom (this first building still exists and is the lower section of the present church building). After 2 years of fund raising the church was dedicated in 1959.
- In 1976, a new addition was added. This addition results in the present condition of the church. In the photo you can see the 1959 structure in the background.
